Another Visualization by Mitchell Whitelaw is Drifter. It is a map of the Murrumbidgee river system in Australia. The project was developed in cooperation with the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.

Through three different interfaces the the visualization can be explored: Map, sifter and compositor. The map shows the river system. Gradually it reveals animals sounds and historical information related to the area. The sifter interface transforms text fragments of newspaper articles into new words. And in the last interface, current photos are transformed into historical ones.
