Jonas Pelzer
Web Design & Interface Design
Jonas is an associated researcher at UCLAB, focusing on web and interface design, as well as typography.
With a background in Communication Design (BA, HS Düsseldorf) and Interface Design (MA, FH Potsdam), his work and research explore topics such as communication, literature, visual culture, the web, and typography.
His master’s thesis at FH Potsdam examined visual expression in web design — reflecting on the state of visuality on the web and exploring ways to foster greater visual richness and diversity.
At UCLAB, Jonas contributed to ARETE, a research project visualizing the historical development of typography and calligraphy. Alongside his research, he works as an independent web designer and developer, runs a small type foundry, and maintains a variety of side projects.
