Road fatalities in Germany have been reduced due to certain law implementations and regulations time by time.
The most important implementations are:
50 km/h speed limit in cities
100 km/h speed limit on rural roads
Compulsory helmets for motorcyclists
Mandatory seat belt wearing
0,5 blood-alcohol limit while driving motor vehicles
So Germany is on a good track and everything is fine…right?
Although the death-numbers decreased since the early 1970’s, people still die due to road traffic accidents. The total numbers are stagnating since 2010. Little progress is seen in global comparison.
Reducing the amount of road fatalities to zero requires higher efforts as made now.
